Holly Skogen Park
West 6th Street, Starbuck

Holly Skogen Park, also known as the TROLL PARK by local children, is a privately owned and maintained park located directly north of the Minnewaska District Hospital in Starbuck, MN. It is owned by Arne Pederson who began its development in 1986. This two acre park is kept open to the public and about 2000 visitors sign the guestbook each year. Children love this park and are welcome as long as they are under adult supervision.

About 1/4 mile of stone-lined trails wind their way through a thick growth of trees and brush in this park. Part of the trail follows a small stream, fed by springs near the center of the park. Seven bridges, on of which is a covered bridge, span the stream. A dam in the stram produces a nice waterfall, which also turns the water wheel for a miniature flour mill.

You will meet several trolls in the park who are pleased to welcome you. The trolls are happy in this interesting place where there are beautiful rocks and flowers, a gazebo, post office, church, and a variety of old horse machinery.

Visitors are welcome to stroll through this park on their own. For a guided tour, you may call (320) 239-4604.
