Starbuck Study Club, GFWC, is part of the international General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). We are a volunteering club for the community of Starbuck and presently have a membership of 30 women. GFWC is one of the largest volunteer organizations in the world and has clubs in all fifty states and several foreign countries.  Starbuck Study Club, GFWC is one of fifty clubs in Minnesota and we are part of the West Central District. Over the past few years, Starbuck Study Club has received both state awards and national recognition.    Two years  ago, our club experienced a growth of almost 50% and was in the top ten nationwide in membership growth.  This past year, the club took state honors in the Public Issues category for helping organize the first National Night Out in Starbuck  and received recognition at the national level for this project.  Starbuck Study Club meets the first Thursday evening of every month September through May at 7:00 in the Commons at the Minnewaska Retirement Home.  We use our fundraisers to donate funds for a variety of community projects and recently finished our Community Improvement Project in reopening the Snack Shack and making improvements at the Starbuck Beach.  New members are welcomed, contact Mona Gregersen at mona@hcinet.net  or Mary Lehtola at  klehtola@hcinet.net.
