This year marks Mike Johnson’s 32nd year since the opening of both his Starbuck and Alexandria clinics! What a compliment to their success and abilities as they’ve built a solid business in our not-so-large community. Not only is the business going strong, but as many of his patients know, both of his sons, Aaron and Luke, have joined the staff! So, watch for a new name and logo in the upcoming months; “Johnson Family Chiropractic Clinic” will redefine the focus of their clinics moving forward. The inclusion of Aaron and Luke means they look forward to growing the business, serving babies to seniors. They offer everything from acupuncture, spinal, nutritional counseling to extreme rehab services and soon to come, DOT physicals.
Although chiropractic work was not on Mike’s radar in his early 20’s, he suffered a back issue after graduating from college, which lead to successful treatment by a chiropractor. What better way to be inspired to pursue this profession. Obviously, he was beautifully suited to it as he is still doing it many years later, inspired his sons to follow in his footsteps, and confirmed he enjoys the work to the present.
Johnson joined the Chambers in both Starbuck and Alexandria as soon as he opened the clinics. He feels it’s important for any business; a way to be community oriented and support the towns where he makes his livelihood. They employ 3- 6 part time people, plus the three of them working full time.
What advice would he give someone wanting to open a business in Starbuck? Mike answered easily. Embrace the community, reach out, be yourself! He recognizes that Starbuck people like honesty and one’s reputation goes a long way as word of mouth is the best for growing your business. He jokingly said many are “Scandinavian cautious”, but trust comes easily where it’s deserved. He felt a lot of support from other businesses in town, and the city was good to him in opening their clinic.
We are so lucky to have the Johnsons in town and they look forward to helping our families have the most comfortable bodies as possible! Watch for a new logo and signage and enjoy the bit of remodeling they plan to do inside their building.
