STARBUCK BEACH

Enjoy A Day At The Beach

Voted by Triple AAA magazine one of the top 5 beaches in Minnesota, Starbuck Lakeshore Park is a popular meeting place for reunions, picnics, or letting the kids release some energy. The park is located on the south side of the city and is bordered by Lake Minnewaska on the east.

Since its origination in 1926, the park has undergone continuous improvements. Six shelters provide an excellent setting for family reunions, large groups and civic picnic events. There are a number of picnic tables throughout the park as well. To reserve shelters, call (320) 239-2525.

A band shell located near the lake plays host to concerts, church services, celebrations and other civic events. A beautiful shoofly was built near the lake, providing a peaceful place to idle away summer hours.

New playground equipment was also added, in addition to the swing sets and the ever-popular merry-go-round. On the south end of the park is the Charles Branch Memorial Field, a ball diamond built in 1978. Lights around the field were installed in 1982. More recently, the tennis courts were resurfaced, a basketball court added and a lighted parking lot built between the park and the swimming beach.
